Getting Here and AroundBy Car![]() The only people that I believe may consider driving are those family members from Arkansas. In that case, it seems that there are two potential routes: (1) HW 59 from Texarkana, and (2) I-45 from Dallas. You must keep in mind that Blake and I have never driven these routes before, so we don't really know anything about them. However, Blake's dad, Eddy, has. He thought that route (1) took a little longer, but that it was because of the road conditions in Arkansas. He thought it might be a good alternative for someone coming from Little Rock. If your destination is The Methodist Hospital, it is located at If your destination is our apartment, our address is But your destination will most likely be your hotel. I would call them for better directions. You can skip to the Lodging section for more information. By Air![]() The easiest way to Houston for those out of state will be a flight. Houston is served by two major airports: (1) Houston Hobby, and (2) Bush Intercontinental. If you are flying Southwest Airlines you will be arriving at Hobby. Most all other carriers use Bush. There are several ways of getting from the airports to the Texas Medical Center: Getting AroundIt may be scary, but the easiest way to get around Houston is by car. Yes, traffic can be a nightmare, but there's not a whole lot you can do about that. Most people here get around by car, therefore there is not a great number of taxis on the road. You'll find them at the airport and your hotel, but they won't be lined up around your restaruant (though I'm sure they would call one for you). My suggestion for transportation without a car is by use of the bus 73-Bellfort Crosstown (see above). It only costs a dollar and it can get you to Hobby, the hospital, the apartment, the galleria, and Rice village where you'll find great shops and restaurants. |
